It looks like you have a flat 1-ply pickguard. Or the plastic is still covering the glossy guard. In the first teaser picture it looks like the old metal of the Leo era guitars. I think that works well to contrast against the wood grain and gloss finish.

Neck pocket and neck heel. No dates to be found but there are some interesting marking on the neck heel. The top reads "Guitars by [Leo]", followed by "DFS" for the steel DFV on this guitar, "B" for the nut (a small error was made in the order leading to a bone nut being mentioned here on the heel as well as the spec sheet whereas I had ordered a Graph Tech nut which is what I received), and "311751-1' which might be the order number:

I couldn't find any UPC sticker although I did not take the pups out. If anywhere, it can only be underneath the F-100 bridge pup. BTW, thing plays great. Nice overdriven rock tones on both pups when cranked all the way but cleans up wonderfully when dialing down the volume. The middle position is very 'chimey'. Yums!!

I do the same with mine, the simplicity combined with the versatility of tone is an instant winner for a guitar that is gigged every week. I run a stripped down rig, A Class Amp and the LE-2 and focus on getting the most out of the tone through my fingers. Stick with it Dan, you will be rewarded indeed!

What color is yours?

In that light at least it is very upright bass looking (not a bad thing) and the dark neck matches quite well.

Did you select an optional belly contour or do they all come like that?


Aside: You guys should have insisted on nixing the serial number plates. The worst of it comes out on that baked maple. Maybe a reverse/negative version of the plate more like the decal coloring would have looked OK.

GBL LE2 - #3 of 25.

New Guitar Day, it just arrived about 10 minutes ago, have not taken the plastic off the pick guard yet.

Its a long story, but I want to thank Darth and all the wonderful folks at G&L, Patrick, Bob and team over at Music Source for all the extra work they put in to make this guitar happen.

Very nice! If I'm counting correctly, that puts three LE-2s in the lefty column. I was playing mine just last night. It's one of three that I are my go-to guitars.
