Hi everyone! I've just joined here as I have just bought my first G&L. I actually borrowed one from a colleague a couple months back, an early 90's sb-2 bass, and instantly fell in love! Their not easy to come by here so I'd never encountered one before. After some searching, I found my very own sb-2. Metallic black sparkle. She's absolutely stunning in every way. I play in a function band up in the north east of Scotland. Looking forward to speaking to some of you

Welcome! I hope to try an SB-2 one day, as it's the only model I haven't had a chance to play yet. I'd love to see photos of the black sparkle.

Thanks guys. Yeah, don't usually go for black either but loved this finish. I'll take some better shots in the near future and post them on here somewhere. Thanks for the warm reception

Come on people, there are some rather
guitarist comments being made here regarding finishes.
Nice bass.
I change my mind periodically preferring different colors. I am coming out of a transparent and burst phase and heading into a solid phase. However black consistently looks good to me on certain guitars like a Les Paul Classic or an ASAT with natural body binding. I am sort of undecided on S-style guitars. It depends on the fretboard and pickguard. It might gross people out but I am considering a mint pickguard for mine.
I like this look but I might have the knobs, pups and switch tip in black.

Salmon , I've actually been thinking of a Fallout with big flake green and mint pg

And there is a problem with black why?
Some of my favorite guitar heros play blackies.
Welcome Stubass!

hello Scotland and welcome. I dream of visiting your country. My daughter lives there and a I miss her dearly. She is a brainiac working for the university.
G&L basses are as nice as you can get. The folks here in Chicago dig them for sure. Leo really nailed it with the basses.
Turn that amp up and let us hear it!,

Ha ha ha, loving it! It is a slight myth that us Scots run around in kilts, tossing logs but I'm sure some do! All the rumours about our heavy drinking are true though! And I do have red hair
We're in the middle of making a demo so I'll post a link to it when it's done, with some solo stuff aswell.
