What are the odds???!!!

Few things are as freeing as public urination. This is from Michigan G&L Jam #2. L to R: Firebill, Emmitt, Milo, Mr X?, Boogie Phil, Prodoc, Ches, Slick, and Chris.

Sometimes you just can't make it to the head in time so you wind up with the "piss pants" look, which inspired this motivational poster from a subsequent Michigan Jam . . .

Must not have a lot of "free range pee-ers" around these parts anymore . . .

I suspect that loss of habitat has a lot to do with it. But I agree with you, Bri.

As a golfer, I totally respect and stand up for those who free-range relieve themselves.

But your front yard? :confused0077:

Come on now!

Bet his neighbors were happy he was "exposed". :BangBang:

you know that you'd have to get on the sex offender registry for relieving yourself on a golf course?

It'll have to be in multiple states too. Lot of golf vacations back in the day.

Fortunately it is easy enough to pick out the 'real' Ches. When I ask 'Will the real Ches step forward?' I'll expect it'll be the one with the stain to move ;) The rest are just a bunch of Ches wannabes. Imposters

Hey Ed! It's been a while! How have you been? I've missed you guys, too. I check in once in a while to see how things are going, but I guess I don't hang around for very long these days. I've been keeping pretty busy, but not necessarily with my once-lucrative career. The economy has pretty much put a kibosh on that, although, I've been building a few guitars lately. I hooked up with a guy that has a great woodshop, so we've decided to do some guitar builds. Fun stuff!

How about yourself? Whatcha been up to?

Re: In memory of times past...

Mon Mar 19, 2012 3:37 pm

Ha! You don't want to hear about my life right now, Jim.

But I'd love to see some photos of your guitar-building projects. Maybe on the Porn thread? - ed

Re: In memory of times past...

Well, I hope all is well at your end, Ed, but we should catch up on things sometime soon.

It looks as though the porn thread is for G&L stuff, and since I don't care to hijack this thread with a bunch of pics, I'll just post one pic here of the first build that was finished about four or five months ago. It started as an experiment, so we conjured up some scrap Honduran mahogany (3 pieces) for the back, and then we glued two pieces of 1/4" bookmatched average-grade maple for the top. The design is sort of a take-off from a Grosh ElectraJet, but we're now doing our own designs. They're just bolt-on necks for now, but we're hoping to add some set necks into the mix soon. This particular guitar has plenty of flaws, but "what the heck?".....LOL. It was a fun one to start with. Anyway, here it is:

Jim P , awesome build and show us more! Ken, there is humor in all this. Last weekend at the tribute show, I went to the bathroom and used the urinal. I pulled the handle and "whoosh". It blew water all over the front of my pants on both legs. it ain't purty and then you have to walk out.-- Darwin

Re: In memory of times past...

Wed Mar 21, 2012 6:23 pm

Ha! Darwin, that happened to me once. Know what I did? I went to the sink, and splashed copious amounts of water on my face and walked out, dripping wet all over. Needless to say, I no longer flush those without taking a generous step or two back.... - ed

Wow! It's really great to see some familiar names here! And thanks for the nice comments! It really means a lot coming from you guys!

As far as more guitar builds go, this is what my workshop desk looked like about two months ago:

Image

All of the bodies are currently receiving some nitro lacquer, and while three of them have received some stain/dye in one form or another, only the korina body will remain natural (lower left). I'll be sure to post some pics once they're finished. The next time, though, I'll open another thread somewhere, and perhaps it can be dedicated to this sort of thing. I guess you could say that I'm not exactly feeling comfortable with hijacking this thread.....LOL.

Jim, this is really interesting stuff. You should post this as a thread in the project section so we can follow it as you progress. Thanks for posting-- Darwin

Always great to have a past member return.
And it look's like you've been quite busy! You can open a thread
over in the General Music Discussion sub-forum. We definitely want
to see and hear more!

Thanks, Craig! I guess you could say that I haven't really been away so much as I just don't live here like I once did......LOL. I'll definitely start a new thread in the General Music Discussion sub-forum once I have a few more pics to share. But, until then, here's another one that just received a couple of coats of nitro:

And, here's one I'm building for myself that's ready for some color. This one is going to have a blue flame top:

great looking gits. kind of like a bolt on prs look. how about the scale length?

Re: In memory of times past...

Sat Mar 24, 2012 9:25 am

Thanks, Louis! The design is sort of a combination of PRS, Strat, Jazzmaster (angled lower bout), Rickenbacker (horns), and who knows what else......LOL. I just wanted to find something that had a familiar look and feel without having to literally copy an existing design. I especially have fun working on the stained maple tops. We don't have any CNC machines, so we're fairly limited with what we can do for now. The red guitar has a scale length of 24.75", but all of the others are 25.5". At the moment we're using either USACG or Warmoth necks, so we can scale them either way, although, the 24.75" scale is a Warmoth conversion, so either scale can actually be used on the same body. We're still working on refining our own necks, and hopefully we'll get a few finished in the upcoming months.

Good guess! Found a nice picture and description of the location too. Since the square is named after the late great Max Euwe, it of course has a large size chess board. Quite an interesting place right next door of Paradiso, the world renowned music temple (seen in the lower right corner of the areal shot)
