I'm a modern guy cause I'm just learning. I'm sorry, but i don't get when people say they want that vintage strat sound? If the guitar sounds great, perfect. I also don't like antiques for the same reason, don't get having old furniture.
I wax the bodies and oil the fretboards. Its like that first coat of wax on a new car, looks fantastic after!
