I tried replacing the stock tone cap with a .047uF RS Guitarworks cap. It sounds great but when I turn the tone all the way off it turns off the volume of the guitar. The stock cap doesn't do this. Does anyone know why?
Thanks,
Billy

Hi Billy,
Check your solder work again and make sure you did not inadvertently connect 2 lugs on the tone pot together. It sound like when you turn the tone off you make an (unwanted) direct connection to ground. The cap should have nothing to do with it. Since it is not an electrolyte, it shouldn't matter what leg you soldered where.
Hope this helps,
- Jos

that means you grounded one of the legs of the pot. probably put the cap in the wrong spot, i made that mistake before.
