I'm happy to share another New Guitar Day, and my second G&L. This was advertised as a 2014 Legacy USA, in what looks like Vintage White with matching headstock.
It has one of the metal "Birthplace of Bolt-on" tags on the back of the headstock with a CLFXXXXXX serial number and the telltale "dot" to the right of it. Maple board, "Deep V" neck profile, what look and feel like stainless steel frets, model logo delete, single-ply white pickguard, G&L logoed, flat pole pickups, dual-fulcrum vibrato, knurled chrome knobs and locking, chrome no-logo tuners.
The asking price for this guitar was alarmingly low. It came without a case or COA, so of course I was wary that it might be a U.S. neck on a Tribute body. Seller said it's as he bought it. I looked in the serial number database and there were a few Vintage White USA Legacy models listed in this approximate range, including one with a similar one-ply, thin pickguard. The fact that the headstock color matches the body is also reassuring. If it's fake, it's very well done. I just can't believe my good fortune if it's real. I got an excellent deal on my USA S-500 - and this one only cost HALF as much!
Just like last time, I'm having trouble getting pics to load. Here are some links. I took the photo tags off because I kept getting an error message; hopefully they work.
Any input would be much appreciated, thank you!
