NBD

Howdy G&L lovers, it's been six months since I got this L2000 in a trade and I am way overdue sharing photos and how much I am digging it. I traded an amazing fretless L2000 for it. The fretless was something special as well but I really missed having frets and couldn't justify having two L2Ks, not with a LB100 in the house. This Fullerton Red L2K may not look like anything special but it has the tone - organic or alive would be words I would use to describe it. And there are a couple of somewhat unique things about it (not counting the extra strap button hole on the forearm contour) - the last owner had it wired to be passive by the late great Mike Lull so the that parallel/series functionality has been split out to the two back switches. I am not much of an active guy and find this mod to quite useful. the other seemingly unique thing is that it has a one piece maple neck. the last owner told me that Lull said he had never seen that (or rarely had, I don't recall...) regardless, this is a real keeper and has made me such a believer again (I had a L2K years ago but didn't connect with it for whatever reason). I still GAS for other basses at times but with a bass like this, it is hard for me to buy another one without getting to play it first (that being said, those CLF L2ks are very tempting!)

That is a seriously good looking bass, red is the best  . I saw someone playing a very well worn early '80s fretless L2K a few months ago and have been lusting after one ever since, it sounded great
