Post The Comanche has landed
Just got my custom order USA Comanche via UPS on Monday, so I thought I'd post a picture of it.

It plays like a dream, and sounds magnificent! Such authority! The finest solid-body guitar I have ever laid my hands on.

Natural blonde with tortoise-shell sunglasses. Just like my wife.

Here's the specs:

1. Swamp Ash Body Wood (ASH)
2. Vintage Natural Body Finish (VNAT)
3. Quartersawn Hard Rock Maple Neck (QS)
4. Light Tint Satin Neck Finish (LTSN)
5. Modern Classic Neck Style (MCNK)
6. Maple Fingerboard with No Face Dots (MP-NTD)
7. 9.5” Fingerboard Radius (R95)
8. Gloss Headstock Face (GH)
9. Medium Jumbo Nickel Frets (MJF)
10. Model Logo Delete (LD)
11. Black-on-Silver G&L Logo (BSL)
12. Locking Tuners (LT)
13. Graph-Tech Nut and String Retainer (GTN-GTST)
14. 4-ply Tortoise Pickguard (TOR)
15. Dual-Fulcrum Vibrato (DFV)
16. Will Ray Bridge Pickup
17. Black Pickup Covers
18. Black Knobs for Controls
19. Black Knob for Pickup Selector

Did you request it with no dots on the fingerboard? I would get lost but I'm sure some people prefer it that way.

As far as the dots go, I never look at them, on any guitar or bass.

I look at the side markers.

To me the dots just take away from the beauty of the wood.
So, yes, I ordered it that way.

Best

Nice. I like that no fretboard dots option. I wish my Comanche had no dots.

I'm always happy when a Comanche has a Will Ray in the bridge position. I'll never understand why that isn't stock.

Regarding the Will Ray bridge pickup.

I've had a few Strats over the years, and I always ended up swapping out the bridge pickup for a hotter one.

I figured I'd just start out that way for this guitar. I'm not disappointed.

Same way I ordered mine. I agree wholeheartedly.

So does anyone have or know of a video comparing the sound of the Will Ray pickup to the stock one?

I don't know of a video, but the WR version has more mids/body/thickness to the sound and a little more volume. I agree it should be stock.

Well, at this point I'll probably never know how the stock pickup sounds, but, that being said, the Will Ray is a strong pickup that still blends well with the others on the guitar.

I've always felt most comfortable having my bridge pickup being the strongest.

When I'm in the mood, I like to just slap that pickup selector back, and let 'er rip.
