Replace pots on G&L Tribute Fallout

Fri Mar 23, 2018 3:44 am

Just bought a G&L Tribute Fallout. Love it, but would like to replace the pots. The stock pots feel cheap and turn too 'easily'. Additionally, the taper on both is fairly unusable to me (volume and tone knobs both reduce far too quickly at the top end of the range, meaning it's difficult to fine-tune whilst playing).

I'm handy with a soldering iron, but am no expert on this.

- Which pots would I need?
- Do I need to replace anything else (e.g. caps) to change the taper?

I don't want to change anything else and am happy with the push-pull operation on the tone pot.

Anyone else replace pots on their Tribute Fallout?

See this in our Gallery->Album: Instrument Manuals and Wiring Schematics: G&L Tribute Fallout Wiring Diagram and G&L USA Fallout Wiring Diagram.
Also, the US Fallout bridge pickup was changed to a G&L AW4470B Alnico humbucker (same as Tribute Fallout) in July 2015.
Check out the G&L On-LIne Store for replacement pots: https://g-l-online-store.myshopify.com/collections/electronics.

Hope this helps.
