Hey Craig,

Thanks for sharing! Everyone needs to get the book. Got it for Christmas and breezed through it, great read and learned a lot.

Anyone get a clip of Danny Kortchmar playing? Would love to have been in that audience :alright:

I see part of an ASAT at the bottom left, interesting color, kinda camo looking, what is it?

Here are two videos with Danny playing with Jackson Browne who had recieved a NAMM TEC Award.

phpBB [video]

G&L did not have any labels on the instruments in the booth, so I will contact them to find out the various body woods they used.
That ASAT Special looks an "ink blot test pattern" on the top. ;)

I will be posting more photos in the next day or so.

Stay tuned.

Very awesome pics! Thanks for posting them. Has there been any word of a lefty Doheny Tribute? The lefty community is DYING for an affordable, quality offset.

I'm really liking those shots of the Doheny without a pickguard. Think I would want one of them (in lefty of course). And that one shot with the Whiskey frost Doheny with the black pickguard...OOOO BABY!!

Is it this one, in the middle?
Image

If so, it is a special build and the body is Monkey Pod (East Indian Walnut) with a Natural Frost finish.

It was already claimed by one G&L's dealers, as were most of the booth instruments on display.

I liked it too!

Yup that's the one. That's a natural huh? Looks dark for natural. In any event, a whiskey frost over ash with the same pick guard would look sexy as all hell!

Is it possible to order a custom Doheny without a pick guard?

Both the Doheny Deluxe and the Doheny Semi-Hollow have rear-mounted controls without pickguard.
The Doheny requires a pickguard.

Pickups: Two wide bobbin G&L Magnetic Field Design single-coil pickups
Controls: Rear mounted 3-way pickup selector, volume, PTB system
Bridge: G&L Dual-Fulcrum Vibrato or Saddle Lock Fixed Bridge
Neck profile: Modern Classic
Radius: 9.5”
Body wood: Premium flame maple top over basswood
Includes Wood Binding
Finish: Standard or premier finishes included

Quote:
NEW! Doheny Semi-Hollow ORDER CODE: DOHENYSH
Pickups: Two wide bobbin G&L Magnetic Field Design single-coil pickups
Controls: Rear mounted 3-way pickup selector, volume, PTB system
Bridge: G&L Dual-Fulcrum Vibrato or Saddle Lock Fixed Bridge
Neck profile: Modern Classic
Radius: 9.5”
Body wood: Swamp ash
Includes Wood binding
Finish: Standard or premier finishes included

Hope this helps.

Are these the ones you are referring to?

Image

If so, those are the new Invader and Invader XL, for details see: January 25, 2018-present G&L U.S. Specifications & Options

As I recall there was a Legacy HSS RMC in the booth:

Hope this helps.

Yup, those would be the ones. Thanks! Didn't see the Invader / XL's listed on the link provided (I'm probably blind), nor on the website. These are new? Any idea when available? Will they have the Modern neck profile and 12" radius?

Radius: 12” (no radius options)

Invader XL (Note: G&L website spec page not yet available)

They can be ordered now; contact your local G&L dealer for pricing and ordering.

Hope this helps.

Nothing new on these on the website, any indication if they are going to offer any heel sculpting or 24 fret options? I know they have been after the Suhr market and have yet to really break through to shredders in a big way...

No other options than what is listed in the: January 25, 2018-present G&L U.S. Specifications & Options.
Dave Brown is still in the process of updating the new G&L Website. The most up to date info is in the link above.

Just now getting around to reading this. Wow! I love those burled woods! Some of the new paint options are pretty doggone nifty as well. I have heard folks jokeingly refer to G&L as the worlds largest custom shop, looking at some of the new items here, it reminds me of that. I really can not afford another guitar, and being a terrible player, I do not need one, but look at that burl!
