Hi everybody, Federico from Italy here. Some years ago I've bought this beautiful used G&L. Now I'm trying to understand a little more of the guitar since I can't find the model in this color anywhere... anybody can help me? :) here's a link to some pics... https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipP ... hVQml5ZzZB

Thanks Federico

Hi Federico, welcome. Beautiful guitar.
Looks like an ASAT special, deluxe, from probably about 2006.

Yep, ASAT Special Deluxe. BTW, that is a beautiful guitar. Love the transparent green finish. Most G&L guitars are built to order. There are some exceptions, for example the Fullerton Standard Series that began recently will be runs of instruments built to one or two specs. Also some of the artist series have set specs. But in general, the customer picks the finish and the options they want. Here are the current finishes and options:

Some options and finishes have up charges as can be expected. But there are many choices that have no cost impact. For example you can get any standard finish. Premium finishes are included if you order ash body. Your G&L dealer can give you a quote for the exact combination of specs your desire.

Congratulations on the ASAT Special Deluxe! Cheers, Dan

It is an ASAT Special Deluxe model. Your's has the Clear Forest Green finish on a Flame Maple top on an optional Swamp Ash body. The neck has Glossy Tinted finish.
This model was in production from 2001-2015, see: List of Regular Production ASAT-style guitars (USA).
See this for the 2014-15 Specifications and Options: 2014-15 (pre-July 1) G&L U.S. Specifications and Options.

To get more details on your guitar, email repairs@glguitars.com with the serial number and ask for the completion date, options and which dealer it was shipped to.

Please do add your guitar to our G&L Registry, too.

Hope this helps.

Very nice. I had an early one of these - mine was a 2002. For the first few years of production the body was American Tilia, a species in the basswood family, under the maple top. I am not sure when they switched to using mahogany; I think it was after only 2-3 years of production. Follow Craig's suggestion and contact the factory; they should be able to tell you more about it.

Out of all the guitars I've bought and sold over the years that ASAT Special Deluxe was one of maybe 3 that I totally regret selling; these are great guitars!
