USA maple neck & fretboard question

Hey all,

I am looking to buy a USA Comanche with the birdseye maple neck. In the features page, the G&L website says:

"Our latest construction methodology uses a one piece neck blank with the truss rod installed underneath the fingerboard. In the case of an all-maple neck, a layer of the maple neck blank is sliced off, and this slice becomes the fingerboard, ensuring a consistent appearance of a solid, one-piece maple neck."

Since the saw blade removes some of the wood, how could the grain match back up to look like a solid piece of wood?
It seems to me that it would be especially bad on the birdseye maple.

Thanks,
Andy

Not to worry...here's my Birds Eye neck. Thye use tons of pressure in the re-assembly.
One of the more beautiful necks I've had including Fender Custom Shop
