Hi all,
I decided tonight to pull the 12g strings off my Legacy in favor of going with 10g. Once the strings were off I pulled the back cover and noticed that it looks like the crinkle-coated black metal plate was apparently installed while the finish was still soft as it seems to have imprinted its texture in the finish beneath. I thought this a tad odd, and went further and removed the pickguard and jack and noticed that there too were flaws in the finish that look to be caused by installing the hardware while the finish was soft.... Anyone else notice this sort of thing with their old Legacy or other G&L from like 1992 or so?
