George & Leo's drawings that lead to the Ascari and Fiorano

I was looking closer at the drawing of the guitar that Steve Grom
discovered:



I can understand why Paul and Grover redesigned the bodies to cater to
a younger audience. But quite honestly being an old timer I prefer the
guitar in this drawing with its saddle lock bridge and uncovered pickups
to the Ascari GTS. I think some day I'll own a USA Ascari GTS perhaps but if
there were a choice I think I would go with ... well probably both
knowing me. But I do like the original design a lot and it certainly
has the vintage look. And a 25" scale might be interesting also to give
the sound a bit more bite than the short scale has. Well actually the
more I think about the Ascari GTS the more I like it. And I really like the
sound of it in that youtube demo. I guess Paul and Grover
do know what they are doing. Duh? Give me time I'll catch up/on.

BTW I love the 3x3 headstock and it's shape. The vintage body shape
in the original drawing kind of reminds me of a Godin (a brand I do
like especially their ergo cut fat necks, but not as much as G&L's in
general and over all. G&L is tops in my book). I do like the original design.
Heck I like them both!

I hope the Ascari GTS and Fiorano GTS holiday sales are good. The more
I listen to the Fiorano GTS the more I like its sound. Never mind about
the 25" scale suggestion. I think Paul and Grover nailed it on both. It's
just taking me time to get adjusted to new designs. Both are growing
on me!
