Replace ASAT Classic Neck pup with G&L ASAT Special pickup

Is it possible to replace the neck pickup on a G&L ASAT Classic with a G&L MFD pickup for an ASAT Special?

Not as a direct drop in, it would require a bigger pickup rout.
The ASAT Classic Custom is the standard model equivalent.

no. you just have to route the guitar and get a new pg. a non reversible mod, definitely lowers the guitar's value.
what are you trying to accomplish?

I'm just trying to get a different sound and try something different. I love my G&L but I'm kind of a tone seeker (i'm an addict and it's a terribly expensive habit) and I wanted to try replacing the pickup without having to break the bank and buy a new guitar.

The ASAT Classic S would be good model to get for that.
