ASAT grounding question

Wed Jul 28, 2010 6:46 am

Hello all, I seem to post questions that are already answered elsewhere, but I can never find them, so if this is silly I apologize in advance. I bought an ASAT Tribute body and now am making an ASAT "partscaster." My question is how is the ground wire is attached to the bridge assembly? It seems too thick to solder. Do I run it to one of the bridge bolts? I've never seen one taken apart and I can't find a diagram that gives me the answer.

Dan

Hi Dan,

On the hardtail bridges, the ground wire is placed underneath the bridge and is not soldered to the bridge.

On the DF trem bridge, the ground wire is soldered to the spring tree.
Here's a picture of it:

BTW, there is a very good Search facility with this forum, so you might check it out. :searching:

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I did search "grounding" but I must have needed a more refined search. I knew the trem claws were grounded like that. I just didn't know how the back of the hardtail bridges were grounded.
