Parts to convert F-100 to G-200 wiring.

Post by Craig »

I recently found this information I had copied from a post by yoeleven on the old G&LDP and posted on January 04, 2008:
Materials required to convert a F100 to G200 wiring. This list allows you to retain the stock plate without modification.
I remove the entire stock assembly and save it but you can use the original jack and pickup selector.
1. 1 @ C&K #7411 4pdt on/on/on toggle.
2. 1 @ 3 way Gibson Style pup selector.
3. 1 @ Stacked Dual Concentric 500k Tone Pot (only comes in 500k so you will need four 1 meg resistors soldered to the outer lugs to bring it down to 250k.
4. Knobs for Stacked pot if not included.
5. 1 @ Switchcraft Jack
6. 2 @ 250k volume pots solid shaft preferred.
7. 2 @ bushings for split shaft pots only so you can install the stock knobs if needed.
8. Capacitors, Mica. 2@.05k 100v, 2@.001k 100v, 2@223k 100v.
9. 4 @ 1meg resistors for the 500k concentric tone control. Solder 2 in parallel to the outer lugs of each pot to bring it down to 250k.
10. Chrome hole plug for the empty phase switch hole. Available at Home Depot, Lowes or any hardware store. I do not recall the size so measure the hole or take the plate with you.

Mouser Electronics on/on/on switch C&K 7411(ITT Cannon) 4pdt part number 611-7411-001 http://www.mouser.com or direct link http://www.mouser.com/index.cfm?handler ... deid=61100

Sweet! I suppose this applies only to the vintage F-100?

Yes. The 2007-present versions of the F-100 have differently wound MFD pickups and the control wiring is much simpler [1 volume and 1 tone (with coil splitter)].
See: F-100 Wiring Schematics and Picture Diagrams and List of pickups used in G&L guitars for the differences of the 1980-86 F-100 and the 2007-present F-100.
