Early 80's SB2 Replacement Neck?

Tue Jul 03, 2012 3:03 pm

I have a beloved G&L SB2 that has a badly warped neck. I was told by the folks at a trusted repair shop that it's hopeless. The last attempt at heat pressing didn't cut it. Is it possible to find an adequate replacement through G&L? Or is this something I'll have to search out on my own??

Thanks in advance for helping a noob!

Hi wet moon,

Today is your lucky day! There is this '92 SB-2 for sale on daBay. Although no guaranties that all holes will line up, it'll do as a replacement since G&L does not offer replacement parts for neck and/or bodies.

Hope this helps,

- Jos

Actually it's an SB-1 neck (only difference is the model decal) but should work okay for an SB-2 body.

Check out this post in our G&L Knowledgebase: Compilation of Replacement neck info posted on the G&L Forum.

You might also post a Want Ad for an '80's SB-2 neck in our Marketplace.

Hope this helps.
