Did Leo Fender inspect my 1986 G&L ASAT?

I recently purchase a 1986 G&L ASAT. The shop had it marked as an 89, but I could tell from the headstock decal that it was earlier. I took the neck off and sure enough the body and neck markings are labeled with 1986 manufacturing dates. I was secretly hoping to see Leo's Broadcaster Inspection sticker inside, but no luck. What I did find is "2F" located in the pocket, written with a marker. I've seen other 86's online with the number "25" in the same space, but this has me wondering if the "F" in there may have been struck from the God of Guitar himself. The answer is NO.
Most likely Leo never saw the Asat you own. He wasn't building these guitars but he was still tinkering with electronics.
The Asat is a fantastic guitar, built during the "Leo era" at G&L. G&L guitars are Leo and George's last waltz and they did an outstanding job.
Play it with pride of ownership, they sound great!
