1984 X body Interceptor "Partsceptor"

Wed Feb 16, 2022 7:44 pm

I picked this up used from a fellow in Hawaii. It just arrived today!

Its a 1984 Interceptor X body with a later Interceptor neck. (the body has a date stamp, the neck doesn't) The neck had the original Schaller G&L tuners on it, I put the G&L locking tuners on it.

I was surprised to find a 14" radiused neck. The frets show very little wear.

The HG-2R pickups sound great! From what I understand, the tremolo on this guitar is kinda rare...maybe because its an early one?

Overall, a very cool guitar!!!

Thanks Craig!!! So those are pretty rare? Mine also has PAT PENDING stamped under the saddle springs. I don’t know if that matters?

No idea how many of these aftermarket DFV bridges [Catalog number BV 100] were sold. According to Jos' research they were on the G&L Dealers Price List beginning in
August 1, 1983. The latest Price List with a listing of this aftermarket bridge we have in our Gallery is the July 1, 1990 one.
