There is a G&L L-2000 bass for sale on Reverb right (now not my bass, nor do I know the owner, a store in Beltsville, MD) that has a pre-lawsuit shaped headstock with a 1983 date stamp in the neck pocket.
https://reverb.com/item/37627686-g-l-us ... amaha-caseWhat do you make of this? Was G&L still shipping new product with the pre-lawsuit headstock a year after it was supposedly forced to stop using the original bass headstock? Thanks for your help!

During first half of 1983, G&L L-1000 and 2000 basses had a bi-cut neck with the paddle headstock. I'm not seeing a neck pocket in the ad, but I believe the modern hook headstock on these first appeared in May or so, 1983.

Hey Derick. The seller sent me a private message that said the neck has a 1983 date stamp. You're right, it's not in the Reverb listing, nor has the seller posted it since he informed me...
