Tarnish on L-1000 Bass Hardware

Mon Oct 26, 2020 7:30 pm

Greetings all! I have an original L-1000 bass which I purchased in 1983. Over the years the pickup and tuning hardware have picked up a bit of tarnish and what looks like rust. Does this need to be cleaned or handled somehow? The people at my local music shop advised me to leave it all alone.

Thanx,
Jay

I've had success using these (with a bit of polish or oil) to clean up rust and minor pitting on screws, bridge saddles, etc.
