1990 lefty Comanche

Fri May 10, 2019 11:23 am

Early this week I got the chance to strum a 1990 Signature Comanche. I am a righty so I did not really play it. Beautiful ,tight grained
ash body with a maple board. This guitar is interesting.

If I can figure out how to post pictures I will.

The warranty card says Comanche Cust. It has a leo Signature on the bout. I have other cool lefties that I cannot play as well like the Marquis,Broadcaster Cavalier etc. Curse you G&L for making these backwards guitars!

Sure could use those sales logs,

I've seen a couple too. Jerry's had one for sale about 2 years ago.

I can't believe they "streeted" these. Lefty Z-Coils would open up whole new rev streams(pickups in the store & all Z-Coil-fitted models).

Cheers,
Will

Ha! Where could it be? Well, I'm tired of waiting.

So, I'm having a Z-Coil converted to lefty. It will look similar to the Espada pickup... but left-handed.

My first one will be a "Bluesboy", but with the Z-Coil in the neck position.

I thought that this process would be fun, however, 'tis not.

I think the CLF Research Espada model will be available as a lefty model, but have not got confirmation yet.

What issues have you run into with your conversion?

Not sure if you have seen this post: Under the cover: Z-coil pickup

Craig - I’m having an electronics company in Minneapolis do the job. We’re aware of the potential pitfalls. If a correct Z Espada becomes available, I’ll certainly consider one. Now, let’s see who gets a lefty made first!

Thx.
