I'd be curious to know if there is an official "bluebook" value on that guitar. Of all the G&L guitars that I own, I paid the least for my 81 F100, although I think I got a very good deal on it, and I don't have any intentions of selling it.

See this post in our G&L Knowledgebase forum:
Is there a good source for getting G&L instrument values?.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Craig I am going to look at it on the weekend, he is asking $1,100 AUD. In Australia all Leo era guitars seem to be around this number, would a F100 in America cost this much?

No, at least not often...unless it was mint with the case (and original whammy).
I'm not sure how the exchange rate currently factors in.
(There was one on Reverb for $600 , it probably sold quick...I don't see it now.)
I bet you'll like it...I've never had one that didn't make me happy...and I've had a dozen or so over the years.
I still have three
happy hunting

Thanks Elwood, All older G&L,s are sort of rare over here so that probably explains the higher cost per guitar as well as the exchange rate difference. I tend to forget that there are many guitars of this vintage in the US.
Cheers

It depends on the exchange rate, but currently it would be about 78 USD.

Geoff, where are you located? I'm in Adelaide. It was here that I managed to get an F100 for 400 AUD, but I'm pretty sure that I lucked out.

I would say the $780 US is a good price for a vintage F-100 in good shape.

im disappointed to say with only 2000 in the bank i think i lost my rare chance to own a F100. I just got sober i guess, its funny how life times change and our wants cant easily come true. Times will change, they always do, and one day, i will get my F100. Patience i think they say...
cheers G
