MFD pickups on Les Paul or semi-hollow?

Has anyone ever played/heard G&L MFD pickups (as found on an ASAT Classic) on a different type of guitar? For example Les Paul or a semi-hollow?
What did you think? Good combination?

You could put the Classic MFDs into a Fender Tele, but why? It's 99% the same thing. The big difference, to me anyways, is the PUPs, not the wood parts. And don't forget the pots & what not are wired a bit different, so it's not a straight drop in.
