G&L Serial Numbers - Specificly F100 Series II

Sat Dec 12, 2015 7:41 pm

G&L's Chronology and Dating page mentions regular guitar and bass serial number begin with 500. Okay, with that in mind I just purchased an F100 Series II with serial number G000504.

Question:
Do I have the fourth F100 Series II built, or
Do I have the fourth F100 built, or
Do I have the fourth G&L guitar built?

Yes the serial number is stamped on the bridge and there's no mistaking it. Here's the link to the photo on Google Drive. Double click the icon.

Not likely, see this post in our G&L Knowledgebase: Serial number significance.

Thank you both! I sent KenC an email for more info on my latest and greatest G&L. As to your info, Craig, I learned a lot since posting my question. KenC pointed out that the neck and body dates on my F100 II are September and October, 1980, so the guitar isn't as early as the number on the bridge would lead one to believe.
