Why are there no ASAT models with standard body contouring?

I asked Dave McLaren this question and here is his reply:

It's simple. The vast majority of customers looking for the ASAT (Tele) shape want a traditional slab body.
If that wasn't the case, you'd see dealers ordering them that way with pressure to make them standard.
We'd be happy to do that if that was the prevailing preference.
