Note from Steve Grom, Director of Manufacturing, about the Satin finished necks:
Beginning in 2013, G&L had expanded the neck finishes options:The Eastern Rock Maple we buy for neck tends to be very white in color and sometimes
the clear satin finish can almost appear to be non-existent. We are looking at adding one more
coat to see how much a difference that makes. We are also starting to offer what’s being called
Light Tint Satin, where there is a slight amber tint to the finish and this might be a good alternative
for a number of customers wanting a natural looking satin finish.
Vintage Tint Gloss - Has a hue of an aged finish. Can work well for both a vintage or modern look.G&L's available neck finishes include Clear, Light Tint and Vintage Tint, each available in Gloss or Satin. Note that the actual appearance may vary as each piece of maple is unique.
Not recommended with Wood Binding on a Swamp Ash body (doesn't match well).
