Gold Whammy Handle

Sun Nov 03, 2019 7:44 am

Recently purchased a used Comanche with gold hardware but it did not have the whammy handle. Trying to find one that fits correctly. Gold one from StewMac has too small diameter. What is the handle size in diameter? And who might have one in gold? Fantastic guitar, have not seen any others with gold hardware. G&L site has no gold parts listed.

G&L does not offer gold plated Vibrato Arms anymore.

Here is what they offer from G&L's On-Line Store:
VIBRATO ARM - G&L DUAL FULCRUM (EARLY) link: https://g-l-online-store.myshopify.com/collections/bridge-components/products/replacement-vibrato-arm-pre-2005

Late 1980s through approximately 2005. This arm is characterized by its raw machined satin finish with no chrome plating. Available in Right and Left hand versions.

Diameter: approximately 0.25" or 6.35mm

VIBRATO ARM - G&L DUAL FULCRUM (CURRENT USA AND ALL TRIBUTE SERIES) link: https://g-l-online-store.myshopify.com/collections/bridge-components/products/replacement-vibrato-arm

This is the current push-in style vibrato arm to fit US models since the mid 2000s and all Tribute Series models with Dual Fulcrum vibrato. This arm is characterized by its chrome finish. Available in Right and Left hand configurations.

Diameter: approximately 0.23" or 5.84mm

Hope this helps.

I have two Comanches with gold hardware. One of them was the victim of an over aggressive polisher who buffed the gold plating off in several places. I am looking for someone that can re-plate these parts but have had little luck finding someone. If anyone knows of a place that can re-plate small guitar parts please chime in. Perhaps that is the only avenue for you as well. Have one plated.

Thx
