First Post - Tribute ASAT Junior II Question...

Wed Jul 13, 2016 11:38 am

Hi, fellow G&L lovers -

This is my first post on the forum, so please bear with me!

Just purchased an ASAT Junior II used - planning to replace the p90s with some Mojotone p90-mount goldfoils, and I'm wondering if I need to get a wiring kit as well (new pots, jack, etc.)

I know the Tributes have USA pickups, but what about pots/wiring? I apologize if this is well-known info, but I can't seem to find any definitive claims on the matter!

I don't mind putting new guts in it, I just don't want to buy more than I need to! Thanks in advance, guys!

What don't you like about the P-90 pickups?

The Tribute instruments that use MFD pickups are the same USA pickups made in Fullerton, CA.
The single coil Alnico pickups in the Tribute Legacy are also the same pickups used in the USA Legacy and
are made at the Fullerton factory. The humbuckers and P-90's are made to G&L's specifications at the Cort facility in Indonesia.

See these posts: What is the new Tribute series which G&L announced in 2003?,
Why the change in manufacturing location for the Tributes?, List of pickups used in G&L guitars.

Hope this helps.

Please post some photos of your guitar and add it to our G&L Registry.
