I wonder why he's chosen these shapes? How much do these cost? What do G&L make of it? And why do so many 'boutique' builders have such AWFUL logos?

Personally, I think he's made a real dogs breakfast of that SC2 looking one - the appealing simplicity of the original is nowhere to be seen.

As to your first question, Jamie, I found the answer -- which is really kind of endearing -- here:

Pricing is a flat $2,400 across the board, no matter which model.

As to what BBE thinks, your guess is as good as mine.

I showed your post to Dave and here is his comments:

Hi Craig,

Never heard of them before, and I don't see how they are delivering value.

If we thought the early S-500 look would sell, we would be happy to offer that. Leo et al figured out people wanted the MFD pickups and DF vibrato in a familiar look. This builder has neither of the features but copied the old look. Why? The SC-ish guitar doesn't do anything for me.

Lastly, I think FMIC may have a problem with the early G&L copy headstock. Then again, maybe not. Thing is, if they don't stop it then after some time we probably have grounds to use it too if we want. Not sure I'd be interested in that, but it's a thought.

Dave

In case you didn't know, that headstock shape became known as the "lawsuit" headstock because CBS-Fender Musical Instruments threaten to sue G&L for copying their old headstock shape.
That's when the G&L headstock shape was changed with the added curve, hook, or "tit", as some call it.

I now have even less interest in them.
Good to see Dave's impressions

I thought they were cool at first when I was thinking they were parts/caster's put together with some spare parts , but at 2400.00 purpose built , no thanks
