SRV - possibly the greatist guitarist most people (outside of guitar circles) have never heard of....and I say that as a mark of respect. He was someone who was technically brilliant - yet maintained a strong blues musicality to his music. Amazing talent.
Clapton said once that SRV was the best guitarist he ever saw, and Clapton played with them all back in the day....
