Could the new Fender Powercaster have been inspired by the G&L Fallout??

Probably part of the inspiration, the other part being the Reverend Double Agent (at least the Double Agent W version). The difference is that the Powercaster is Gibson scale (24 3/4") instead of 25 1/2" scale. I also think it's an experiment for Fender to use a roasted maple neck.
Also the Powercaster is a limited run instrument - only offered in March. I don't know how many they will make since these are from the Mexican factory; when the do limited run instruments in the USA it's typically 500 or fewer.
