Guitar Vs. Working musician...lol

2011 Les Paul Studio bought in November 2011. Used it for 18 months before putting it in the closet. Slightly involved story as to why I even got the guitar in the first place. I'll briefly explain why after the photos.

Minimum of 3 nights a week playing, 3 days of teaching, and at least 1 rehearsal. At the time, my cover band was playing mostly 90's to Modern rock/pop. Throw in the occasional sing along classic rock stuff and you have the resultant effects on a guitar.

Crappy pic taken with my phone after digging it out of the closet.

Only dropped a few times

Can you tell what positions I like to play... :alright:

Just in case you made it down this far...

The Management/Agency we were on wanted to expand our legitimacy (their words, not ours) and wanted some iconic references when we played. They asked each of us to 'brand' our stage show. I was playing a Peavey Wolfgang, G&L Legacy and/or Asat, USA San Dimas Charvel (for the heavy stuff), and Boogie amps. Even though the agency split the cost, all of a sudden I was playing a Les Paul and had a Marshall amp. FYI, the Marshall was an empty 2x12 combo which i used as a front for my 5150 or Boogie. :cute467: Each of the band members did similar setups. Ironically,
we're not on the agency roster anymore, which is fine. We took an extended break and they dropped us.

But we are playing again, without our old management company.

Cool photos of the working horse! Branding is big to agencies and promoters. I was contacted by a promoter in November of last year who had heard us and wanted to promote some gigs. He wanted a schedule from me of what we had booked. We are almost fully booked through 2014. Even though I sent him a schedule, he has called me twice and we were booked both times. I suspect that we may not be a good deal for this guy to promote. We are not looking for full time employment. -- Thanks for posting! -- Darwin

Darwin, that's great you have a good playing schedule. Our only weekly is Thursday nights so far, but it's been a full house since we started. Trying for a weekly Tuesday or Wednesday again, since our weekends are usually monthly depending which club we're playing. Sucks at times because most of our former clubs won't take a band without representation. :mad0025:

That is an issue here too. You cannot get into a Casino without a booking agent. This is not an easy market and I am glad I don't have to make a living at it. But, it sure is fun!-- Darwin.
